NAAFE Academy is a specialised film editing academy in Kerala, created for aspiring film editors who want to learn the craft of editing through practical training, professional workflows and exposure to the realities of filmmaking.
Founded around the experience and mentorship of filmmaker and film editor Noufal Abdullah, NAAFE goes beyond conventional video editing classes.
We don’t believe that becoming a film editor is about simply learning editing software.
We believe it is about understanding:
Story. Performance. Rhythm. Emotion. Sound. Cinema.
And most importantly—
Knowing when to cut, why to cut and what the audience should feel.
Our Mission
NAAFE’s approach is built around practical exposure to the film making environment.
Where appropriate, students can gain exposure to real-world editing processes, professional post-production practices and industry workflows. NAAFE’s public profile has previously highlighted student opportunities to assist in mainstream films and exposure to real-time editing and DI processes.
This creates a learning environment where students can understand how footage moves from production to post-production and eventually becomes a finished film.
